Web browsers have updated recently and this is causing issues playing videos that worked last term. QuickTime my no longer be on your computer. However, the latest version of QuickTime will not play the files either. You need to install an older version to get things working again.
Here’s how to get them to play.
- Uninstall QuickTime
- Re-install this older version of QuickTime
- Re-start your browser
Step by step
1. Uninstall QuickTime
Click your Windows icon at the bottom left of the screen and on the right side of the menu, click Control Panel
On the long list of settings, click the Programs and Features link.
Scroll down to the Qs and click on QuickTime. (if you don’t see QuickTime listed, go to the Re-install QuickTime section below)
Click the “Uninstall or change a program” link and uninstall QuickTime.
2. Re-install QuickTime
Download this file QuickTime V7.7
Once it downloads, unzip the file to access the QuickTime installer.
Run the QuickTime installer .exe file.
3. Re-start your browser
The videos in your course should now run again.
