An image can be added to a test or exam question. First, the images should be added to the online course and then attached to an exam question. It is recommended that the image is no more than 100MB in size.
WARNING: make sure your image is NOT named such that it gives the student the answer. If the mouse hovers the image, it will give the name of the image.
ADD IMAGES TO AN ONLINE COURSE:
Go to Edit Course.
Click on Manage Files. (see below)
Select New Folder from menu bar and name it Images for Exams, and press Save.
Click on this new folder on the left hand side of the screen and on the right side it will indicate that the folder is empty (see below):
Click on Upload option from menu bar.
Click Upload again.
Browse to where you have your images that you want to use for the exams and double click on the image you want to add. Or if you have several images you want to add, use the “control” and left mouse click on each file and then press enter. All images will show in the ‘Upload’ window. Press Save (see below):
Next we want to ADD THE IMAGE TO A QUESTION:
Go to Activities from menu bar and select Quizzes.
Select the Question Library from the menu bar (see below):
Locate the question that needs an image. Double click the question to be able to edit it.
In the Window following the ‘Question Text’, click on the second icon that allows you to Insert Image.
Choose the Course Offering Files folder from the left hand side of the screen, and locate the folder with the exam images. The image below might be slightly different on your system (see below):
Select the appropriate image by clicking on the circle (radio button) and press Add (see below):
Type an image description (example: a picture of the heart) for the “Alternate Text” and press OK.
You might need to change the size of the image by dragging the corner ‘handles’ and corner triangle (as shown below):
Press Save to add image into question.
